Congratulations to Dr. George Shakir on his PhD Thesis

We extend our congratulations to  George Shakir from the Steffens Lab on successfully defending his PhD thesis on 'Role of the CB1 cannabinoid receptor in the regulation of bone marrow and extramedullary hematopoiesis'.

George's PhD thesis shed light on the role of innate and adaptive immunity in cardiovascular disease and the role of lipid mediators in this context. 

George was enrolled within the CRC1123 Graduate School PhD Program, allowing him to collect the necessary European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) points to obtain his PhD in Medical Research. The CRC1123 offers doctoral candidates and MDs,  a large array of projects within different scientific landscapes.
